About Meridia

A Quiet Place to Get Organised

Meridia was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to understand their own pension-related documents — calmly, clearly, and in their own time.

Our Story

How Meridia Came to Be

Meridia came together in Chiang Mai in 2018, when a small group of people noticed something that kept coming up in conversations among friends and neighbours approaching retirement: a sense of quiet confusion about paperwork. Not crisis — just the feeling that forms had piled up, documents were scattered across different folders and drawers, and nobody quite knew where to begin.

The founding team brought backgrounds in adult education, document management, and general administration. None of it was financial advisory work — and that, they realised, was exactly the point. What people often needed was not advice, but orientation. Someone to sit beside them and say: here is what this document probably is, here is where it belongs, and here is who you should contact if you need something done with it.

Since those early meetings around kitchen tables and in small community rooms, Meridia has developed three structured ways of helping: a one-to-one organising session, a short workshop series, and a thorough household briefing package. The work is intentionally narrow — organisational and informational only — and is always carried out at the pace the person in front of us needs.

Our Mission

What We Are Here to Do

Our purpose is simple: help people feel less uncertain about the documents that relate to their retirement years. We are not advisers, representatives, or agents. We are educators and organisers who work in plain English, with patience, and without any pressure to make decisions or take any particular course of action.

Clear Orientation

We help you understand where you stand and where each document belongs, without telling you what to do.

Respectful Pace

Retirement is a significant chapter. We work at the speed that feels right for the person in the room.

Always Pointing Outward

Anything requiring formal action, personal advice, or representation is referred to the right official channel.

Small Group Sizes

Workshops are kept small so that every participant has the space to ask questions and engage at a comfortable level.

Regular Content Review

We review our printed materials and workshop content regularly to make sure general information reflects the current procedures as accurately as possible.

Understanding Pension Documentation in Thailand

For people who have built their lives in northern Thailand, the years approaching retirement often bring a growing awareness that the paperwork associated with pension entitlements — whether from overseas schemes, Thai social security, or personal savings arrangements — can be surprisingly difficult to keep track of. Documents arrive from different sources, in different formats, and are filed under different systems over the years.

Meridia works with this reality every day. Our sessions are not designed to cover every possible scenario or provide personal recommendations. They are designed to give individuals and households a practical, well-organised foundation: a set of labelled documents they can lay hands on quickly, a clearer understanding of what each one represents, and a reliable sense of where to go for each kind of formal question.

Many of the people who come to us have never needed to think carefully about this kind of organisation before — careers were busy, paperwork was filed and forgotten, and retirement felt distant. There is nothing unusual about arriving at this stage with documents in disarray. What matters is finding a calm way to move forward, and that is something Meridia is here to help with.

Our educational approach draws on publicly available information about how common pension structures and retirement documentation systems generally work. We do not interpret personal situations or predict outcomes. We help you understand the general landscape so that conversations with official bodies, advisers, or family members are easier to have.
